In August 2007 Lady Teviot travelled to Australia for a very busy genealogical lecture tour. This took in in towns on the Gold Coast, Queensland. Where she gave 18 lectures to Family History Societies, Rotary Clubs, and the Australian Monarchist League over a period of 15 days. Some of the subjects were Workhouses, Kill or Cure (Medicine in the 19th Century), I Never Thought Of That, Genealogical Geography, Civil Registration, The Parish Registers, The Parish Chest, Baby Farming, Census Returns, A Genealogical Journey, London Research, Wills and Administrations and One Day I Will.
Letters from the Crowborough and District Historical Society and the West Middlesex Family History Society have both expressed their enjoyment for entertaining and informative talks on 'One Day I Will' about family history and 'I Never Thought of That' a second look at genealogical dead-ends.
In 2008 Claygate W.I.,West Surrey FHS Walton on Thames, North West Kent FHS Sevenoaks. Speaking engagements in April will include North Bay, Brantford, Barrie and Toronto in Ontario Canada. In July Lady Teviot will be speaking in Australia in Victoria, South Australia and Darwin in the Northern Territory. Census Searches has been chosen by Flame Television Production Ltd to take part in the second series of the very popular programme 'The Heir Hunters' on BBC 1. The cameras have just finished filming for this hughley successful documentary for viewing in June/July 2008.
Genealogy:-
Genealogy means the study of a family history and family’s lineage. This information will be recorded in documents and known as a family tree or simply to find a specific person in a family’s past and connect him or her to other members of that family. Information that documented in the written record includes birth, marriage and death dates, names of children and spouse(s). Genealogy can better view as a subset of a greater discipline.
Importance of Genealogy:-
Genealogy is very important for all of us. If we want to understand ourselves better, it is important to understand where we came from. Additionally, genealogy may be used to find lost relatives. Genealogy is also helping those families that have been torn apart by some larger circumstance. In the World War II, most of the genealogist helped people by the war rediscover their families which are still in Europe. You can easily search genealogy with internet it is really easy way to find history.
Whenever you decide to make your own history, make sure that you are being prepared for those questions that you want to ask. One more thing is also important that take a prior interview of family. While asking to about granduncle for information his parents and siblings, they must be got frustrated. They said that time everything is written in book over there. My great-grandmother kept record; these records include her children and all relatives’ information up to the time of her death. Those records are helping too much to her family. So genealogy is very important for all of us.
